Hi, I'm Annlee

I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Waterloo, studying Computer Science with co-op. I have a passion for new technologies, the internet and art.

Last year, from September to December 2017, I studied at the Universtiy of Hong Kong as an exchange student. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring both Hong Kong and the rest of Asia.

I have experience in web development and application development. I want to gain more experience in backend technologies.

I love unconventional sports like rock climbing that tests your athletic abilities above and beyond.

#Politicalign - qHacks 2016

#Politicalign Github | Demo

Recently I went to qHacks 2016 which is Queen’s first hackathon! The ride from Waterloo to Queen’s was long, but worth it. The hack that my team created was a website that incorporated machine learning results and displayed them in an easy-to-understand format. It was my first time incorporating external APIs that needed to fetch results from the web, which was an interesting learning curve. It was also my first time really creating a website from scratch.

Our AngularJS website analyzes (current, as of Mar 2016) American Presidential Candidates’ speeches with indico.io. It does some calculations and displays the data using chart.js.

Gishwhes Mascot Generator

Gishwhes Mascot

This past week I have been participating in an international photo scavenger hunt called Gishwhes. For one of the items, my friend and I created a small random mascot generator. The source code is on my github here and you can try it out here!

Waterloo, here I come (back)

Going back to Waterloo tomorrow!

It’s been a busy day today shopping and packing for my 2nd term. Hopefully I won’t forget anything here, since I probably won’t be back for a while.

But I am certainly excited for 1B to start, even with the 8:30 psych class :)

Holidays

Merry Christmas!

See you in the new year!

Hello World

Welcome to my new Jekyll site (super awesome and cool way of making a site).

Markdown

All posts can be written in Markdown. Here’s a cheatsheet for Markdown and one can also use prose.io as a convenient editor.

Looking forward

I will be trying more things with Jekyll and Github in the coming weeks (hopefully) and getting a little more work done onto my pet Android project (Counting Stars).

I will also be looking into how to customize the website without breaking the core functionality and see how to install other themes without post migration frustrations.
